Invisalign: the virtually invisible orthodontic treatment

At Precise Dental Surgery we are committed to helping our patients straighten their teeth with Invisalign, the virtually invisible alternative to traditional braces.

Invisalign is a series of clear, removable aligners used by many dental professionals worldwide. The Invisalign treatment involves changing your aligners every two weeks. Each new aligner will apply pressure gradually moving your teeth into the desired position.

The Four Main Invisalign Advantages

  • Invisalign is virtually invisible:
It is possible that no one will even know you are wearing Invisalign, as the aligner trays are clear ad fit seamlessly over your teeth.
  • Invisalign is removable:
Invisalign aligners are removable meaning you can eat and drink normal foods. Another benefit is that your oral hygiene habits such as proper brushing and flossing can be maintained.
  • Invisalign is comfortable:
With Invisalign, there is no need for potentially annoying metal brackets or wires. This can result in less mouth irritation and oral sores that can be experienced with traditional braces.
  • Invisalign treatment is transparent:
Using 3D modelling technology you can see your future smile before you start treatment.

Receiving Invisalign

Once our dental professionals have identified that Invisalign would be a suitable treatment for your particular orthodontic concerns we can begin planning your treatment process. We will discuss with you the particular extent of your dental concerns and the intended amount of treatment time you will require in order to correct these concerns.

Once we have discussed this with you we can take a mould of your teeth in order to create your aligner trays. In most instances you will be required to change your Invisalign trays around every two weeks, however this will depend on your specific dental condition. Each set of trays can gently guide your teeth into the desired position in anywhere between 9 – 24 months.

The Invisalign trays will need to be worn day and night, however they can be removed in order to eat, floss and brush your teeth. As they are custom made to seamlessly fit over your teeth Invisalign aligners should not cause any discomfort whilst you are wearing them. We generally recommend you visit us every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and for us to check on your progress.
